Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Every job is priced individually, based mainly on how much space your items take up in our truck. We also consider weight, accessibility and the overall complexity of the work. Labor, landfill fees and recycling costs are all included, estimates are free, and we never begin work until you’ve agreed to the price. See our pricing page for details.

Items are hand-sorted at our warehouse. We donate what can be reused, recycle what can be recycled, and take the rest to appropriate disposal facilities, keeping as much as possible out of the landfill.

Generally, no. Junk removal is a paid, full-service job. If you have scrap metal or other items you think may have value, call us at (619) 777-5533 and we’ll talk through your options.

It helps. We do our hardest to arrange same-day pickups when our schedule allows, but we book up quickly, so it’s always a good idea to call ahead at (619) 777-5533.

We’re open Monday through Saturday, 7am to 9pm, including Saturdays and evenings until 9pm. We’re closed on Sunday.

We’re a junk removal and hauling company, not a moving company. If you need help with loading, unloading or heavy lifting, ask about our Labor Only Services; a labor fee applies.

No. We don’t pick up or transport automobiles for scrap or transportation.

Pricing & Payment

No. Junk Removal And Hauling is a for-hire, full-service rubbish removal company. Everything is included in one upfront price: picking items up from wherever they are, loading them onto the truck, cleaning up the area afterward, and any disposal or recycling costs. You pay once the job is finished, with no surprises.

We charge mainly by how much space your items take up in our truck, plus weight, accessibility and complexity. Single-item pricing is available for some items, such as mattresses or televisions. Dense materials like dirt, concrete, tile and sand are priced separately. Extra charges may apply for stairs or narrow passageways, loose items that aren’t bagged or boxed, items that need to be disassembled, and very heavy items like pianos, hot tubs and exercise equipment.

Because we charge by how much room your items take up in the truck, we need to see them in person to give a final price. When our crew arrives, they’ll look at everything you want removed and give you a price before starting. If you’re not happy with it, just let us know and we’ll be on our way.

For some single-item removals, we can estimate the price ahead of time, but the final amount is always confirmed on site. The easiest way to get pricing is to book a free, no-obligation onsite estimate.

We accept cash and major credit cards. Payment is collected once the job is finished.

Tips are never expected or required, but our crews always appreciate them. Feel free to tip if you think they did a great job.

Scheduling & Appointments

Call (619) 777-5533 or request a free estimate online. We’ll confirm your appointment and give you a free estimate on the day of service. Once you approve the price, we can usually remove your junk right away.

Call us at (619) 777-5533 any time and we’ll gladly help you reschedule or cancel.

There’s no fee if you cancel by the night before your appointment. A $150 travel fee applies if our crew arrives without prior notice of cancellation.

We prefer to have someone there when our truck arrives. If you can’t be home at the scheduled time, call us and we’ll work out arrangements that suit your needs.

Most jobs are finished quickly, but timing depends on how much there is and where it is. Items in an attic, basement or crawl space, for example, can take longer to remove.

What We Take

Almost anything that isn’t hazardous and that two people can lift and load. The most common items are mattresses, sofas, furniture and electronics, but we also remove appliances, exercise equipment, hot tubs and spas, pianos, above-ground pools, swing sets, yard and green waste, carpet, and construction and demolition debris.

We typically can’t accept car fluids (oil, gasoline, antifreeze), biohazard cleaners, pesticides and herbicides, fresh paint, pressurized containers, asbestos, oil drums, and oil or waste storage tanks. For many of these items, we can point you to San Diego locations that accept them for free.

We can’t take hazardous chemicals or fresh (wet) paint. For tires and other special items, call us at (619) 777-5533; some items carry a per-item fee.

Absolutely. If two people can lift it and load it onto the truck, we’ll gladly haul it away.

No. Just point, and we’ll take care of the rest. Our crew removes items from wherever they are: garage, backyard, attic, basement or any room in the house.

Service Area & Company

We serve San Diego and communities across San Diego County. See the areas we serve, and if your town isn’t listed, give us a call at (619) 777-5533.

Monday through Saturday, 7am to 9pm. We’re closed on Sunday.

Yes, we’re fully licensed and insured. Every booking is covered by insurance that protects both people and property.

We’re a family-owned San Diego company serving the county since 2001. We’re licensed and insured, give free upfront estimates, use a 16-foot box truck that holds more than a standard 12-foot truck, sweep the work area when we’re done, and hand-sort every load so reusable items can be donated and recyclables recycled.

We donate reusable items whenever possible, but we can’t guarantee a donation receipt for tax purposes, since the receiving organization decides what qualifies.

Yes. Every load is hand-sorted so we can donate the donatable and recycle the recyclables before anything goes to disposal.

Dumpster & Trailer Rental

We drop off a dump trailer or dumpster, you load it on your own schedule, and we haul it away when you’re done. It’s a cost-effective option if you don’t mind doing the loading. Learn more about dumpster and trailer rental.

Rentals include a 3-ton limit; additional tons are $95 per ton and additional days are $10 per day. Tax is not included, and mileage surcharges may apply for jobs more than 30 miles from our base of operations. Call (619) 777-5533 for a free quote.

It depends on the type and amount of waste. Our dumpster sizes guide compares the options, or call us and we’ll recommend the right size for your project.

Regular household junk and construction debris are fine; flammable, toxic or otherwise hazardous items are not. See what can and can’t go in a dumpster.

See our rental terms for typical rental periods and weight limits. Extra days are $10 per day.

Load it as evenly as you can. That fits more debris and keeps the weight balanced. Make sure nothing hangs over the sides or sticks up above the top, since an overloaded container can’t be hauled safely.

A permit is typically only needed if the dumpster will be placed on a public street or other public property. Let us know where you plan to put it when you book.

Yes, same-day drop-off and pick-up are available when our schedule allows. When you’re ready for pickup, just call (619) 777-5533.
